In particular, the job will include advising the enterprise on cyber legal risk and requirements, providing legal support to business units responsible for cybersecurity, and negotiating favorable contract terms with third parties relating to cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy. This attorney will be a member of the Cybersecurity Legal Team within the Technology Group of the Legal Department and will work closely with Privacy Counsel and with various business units, including Corporate Cyber Security and Enterprise Privacy.Preferred locations are Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA or Richmond, VA. Will consider candidates with strong relevant experience via remote.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.• Providing support to Truist’s Legal Department and lines of business, including Corporate Cyber Security, on matters relating to cybersecurity and data protection.• Oversee and/or handle the negotiation of cybersecurity, data protection, and related privacy language in third-party contracts and other types of agreements entered into by Truist, including within the Information Security and Privacy exhibits to the bank’s Master Services Agreement.• Responsible for assessing legal risk, providing legal advice relating to routine matters, helping respond to cyber incidents, and resolve legal problems which may represent potential exposure to Truist, including advising on data breach notification requirements.• Keep abreast of and analyze legislation, regulations, and case law developments relating to cybersecurity and data protection that affect Truist and the financial services industry.• Serve as an individual contributor but may provide ad hoc work direction and leadership to other legal staff regarding support on active cases or projects.QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
