About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and culturally-sensitive music producer for a short-term project focused. This capstone project aims to modernise traditional tunes and create an original instrumental piece. The ideal candidate will bring a fun and playful approach to the work, skill fully blending cultural instruments to create engaging and relevant musical arrangements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project lead to understand the cultural context and goals of the Yogad folk song collection
• Adapt existing folk tunes to enhance their cultural relevance while maintaining their essence
• Compose an original instrumental piece for a folk ballad, incorporating appropriate cultural elements

• Proven experience in music production, particularly in folk or world music genres
• Familiarity with or willingness to research culture and musical traditions
• Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) and music production software
• Ability to play and/or incorporate various cultural instruments into productions
• Strong creative skills with a talent for adapting traditional music for modern audiences
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely
