About the Ts’‘kel EdD Program:
The students in the Ts”kel EdD program are experienced Indigenous educators with leadership responsibilities for the resurgence of Indigenous ways of being and knowing in Indigenous communities, colleges and universities, business and health organizations, unions and community groups as well as the K-12 sector. Ts”kel students live and work in all areas of British Columbia, as well as in other provinces and countries. The program receives from 40 to 50 applications per intake. A typical Ts”kel cohort is composed of 15-22 students.
Most Ts”kel courses are offered online with synchronous sessions timetabled in accordance with student work/life schedules. Some courses are offered as hybrid courses in the summer. Most research projects involve the study of Indigenous leadership and resurgence practices. The program is grounded in the belief that it is important for participants to engage in Indigenous scholarly discourse about understanding, critiquing, and advancing Indigenous educational priorities.
