Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking for multiple service-oriented professionals to work as Customer Service Generalists in our Abingdon Customer Service Center. If you possess strong customer service and cash/credit card handling experience, problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and want a career with growth opportunities, we would like to talk with you.The selected applicants will handle customer transactions, including communicating policies, procedures, and regulations; issuing IDs; processing applications; administering vision, driver, and in-car road tests. In addition, processing diverse vehicle registrations and titling, tax collection, and other DMV-related services.Training will be provided to ensure your success. We live them!Minimum Qualifications• Customer service experience working in a fast-paced environment.• Experience using a personal computer or other automated systems.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Flexibility to work M-F and Saturday.• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.• Must have attention to detail and accuracy and complete assignments on time.• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid VA Driver’s License with a driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway safety and concern for the law.• Driving records should have a point balance of less than six demerit points and no major convictions.• Experience working in a team or group environment.• Can lift 10 – 25 pounds.Additional ConsiderationsNoneSpecial InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
