Growing together.The Finance Director, United Clinical Services (UCS) Operating Costs is a leadership role that supports FP&A and strategy within United Clinical Services as well as influencing strategy and financial performance across the UHG Enterprise Clinical Environment. This role supports consolidation and communication of the UCS financial forecast and budget, and will also directly support high level strategic deliverables including strategy and financial measurement of enterprise-wide clinical capital investments, measurement of the return on investment of enterprise clinical operations, and clinical program financial analysis. This position requires advanced technical financial acumen as well as demonstrated experience partnering directly with and influencing leadership. This position also requires demonstrated experience leading and developing others.If you are located in Minnetonka, MN, you will have the flexibility to work from home and the office in this hybrid role* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:• Partnering across the Enterprise (UHG, UHC, Optum) to ensure enterprise clinical investments are aligned to Enterprise strategy and support members, providers, operations, and the broader organization• Directly engaging senior leadership to ensure the UCS strategy is aligned with and meeting the objectives of, UHC lines of business and the broader organization• Performing ROI analysis on Clinical Programs and consolidation of historical financial performance• Performing Financial Analysis on Operational Cost Structures to ensure that appropriate investments are made in SG&A to deliver financial value• Directly owning consolidation of quarterly forecasts and annual financial plans for United Clinical Services (UCS) Operating CostsSupporting the United Clinical Services leadership team with FTE Governance, Operating Cost Analysis, Strategy Development, and Other Ad Hoc Financial Analysis Needs• Assisting the Senior Finance Director, UCS Operating Cost in developing a financial plan aligned to business strategy while also fulfilling operating cost objectives• Developing business/financial cases for specific initiatives or capital investments• Providing leadership to and is accountable for the performance and development of staff• Seeking opportunities to improve processes and identify areas of improvementParticipating in a wide variety of special projects and evaluating new business opportunitiesYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor degree in business Finance or Accounting• 8+ years of broad experience in multiple Finance disciplines• 5+ years of leadership experience• Demonstrated Experience supporting and influencing leadership• Solid analytic background, attention to details• Demonstrated excellent communication and organization skills• Advanced level of proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint• Enterprise financial systems such as PeopleSoft/Oracle/EssbaseAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
