Finance Manager (Lake Market)

DescriptionThis position provides financial guidance to the senior hospital leadership team, and financial support to the Vice President of Finance Operations. This position is responsible for analysis of financial and statistical operating financial performance, forecasts, annual budgeting and strategic planning. This position will partner with Accounting, Revenue Cycle, HR/Recruitment, Strategic Planning, other Hospitals, Physician groups and Legal on various financial related activities including but not limited to contracts, business plans, key financial indicator reporting, value improvement processes, and compensation modeling/review. This position will be responsible for monitoring internal controls and work in conjunction with various financial and operational leaders across other UH businesses.The position will primarily support the VP of Finance and will attend/coordinate various meetings, participate in Value Improvement Process (VIP) initiatives, present financial performance to market leadership and Board of Directors, and mentor/develop the analysts from the Finance desk team. As needed, the manager will also support other areas within the Vice President of Finance span of control. This role will require some travel between the Management Services Center and the hospitals they service, and may be required to attend some early morning or evening meetings.Required For All Jobs• Performs other duties as assigned.• Complies with all policies and standards.• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.QualificationsEducation• Bachelor’s Degree Required• MBA PreferredWork Experience• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant job experience (Healthcare experience highly desired)• Working knowledge of:• 1) U.S. GAAP – specifically not-for-profit hospitals• Cost accounting• Soarian, EPSi, Eclipsys & other billing systems• Revenue cycle• Utilization management and patient accessKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, General ledger, Accounts Payable and Cost accounting systems.• Extensive knowledge of Excel required.• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills required.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Licenses and Certifications• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred• Education will be considered in lieu of CPA
