This position is a key member of the school’s Injury and Violence Prevention Center (IVPC) and will work with the School & Youth Survey Team on the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) and Smart Source survey projects. The HKCS is an anonymous and voluntary youth survey, serving as Colorado’s only representative data on youth health behaviors, social-emotional indicators, and protective factors. Smart Source is an inventory of school health best practices completed by school staff for both elementary and secondary schools.During the year of survey administration (every other fall), the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for conducting survey recruitment and administration activities. In the non-administration year, this position will be responsible for providing technical assistance to schools and community partners to interpret and use local survey results.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain relationships with school wellness constituents and local partners, such as public health agencies and youth-serving non-profits, to support local survey participation.Recruit school districts to participate in surveys through written and verbal communication with district administrators, school staff, and local partners.Navigate communications and relationships with school districts and local partners.Oversee implementation of survey administration in assigned communities to ensure successful data collection.Develop custom data presentations and data use trainings for school and community partners.Provide technical assistance to school personnel and local public health and youth-serving professionals.Create recruitment materials that support survey enrollment and participation, including website content, one-pagers, and other instructional resources.Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment timelines and protocols; maintain project protocols and files as needed.Execute recruitment strategies for assigned communities to bolster survey participation.This is a full-time position and reports to the School and Youth Survey Team Research Program Director.Work Location:Hybrid –This position is located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO and is eligible to work a hybrid schedule with at least two days of the week that can be worked from home.Why Join Us:The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) is a unique and collaborative graduate school that combines the collective expertise of three Colorado universities: the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora, Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. The University of Colorado is committed to diversity and equality in education and employment.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor’s in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.Two (2) years of professional level experience, which may include relevant work towards a master’s degree.A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Experience engaging in persuasive communication with audiences that hold a wide variety of values.Experience working with the K-12 education system in Colorado.Experience with public speaking and presentations.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.Outstanding customer service skills.Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.Ability to navigate communication with partners and school districts across Colorado, including discussion of sensitive topics.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
