Quaker Internship Program Mission Statement
The Quaker Internship program offers a mutually beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for Penn Athletics and Recreation, its employees, and collegiate undergraduate and graduate students in the Philadelphia area. This program will enhance our ability to accomplish Penn’s strategic goals, recruiting top talent, and build strong relations within the community, while developing, mentoring and cross training future industry leaders. All applicants must have the ability to receive academic credit.
Internship Description
1. Manage the Penn Men’s Basketball Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
2. Research and recommend additional marketing outlets that would enhance the mission of Penn Men’s Basketball.
3. Work with Penn Athletics marketing team to come up with marketing plans and be responsible for executing said plans.
4. Work closely with the director of operations and team managers in assisting with the media and game day operations.
5. Be able to create content on a regular basis that effectively increases the Penn Men’s Basketball social media presence and following as well as excites prospective student-athletes, current student-athletes, parents of team members, fans, and members of the general population in and around the University of Pennsylvania.
6. Provide service and timely responses to those who reach out to Penn Men’s Basketball through social media platforms.
Internship Qualifications
1. The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously
2. Proficiency on all social media platforms and tech savvy
3. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence and strong relationship building.
4. Good project management skills combined with strong personal code of ethics and integrity. Shared commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA and Conference rules.
5. Basic understanding of Adobe Suite
6. Basketball experience is preferred, but not required
7. Graphic design background is preferred, but not required
