Assistant Director - Audit & Compliance

This position is responsible for overseeing compliance with effort reporting/compensation and subrecipient monitoring, as well as coordinating the completion of a variety of audits and data integrity reviews for the University’s grants and contract portfolio approximating $1.2B annually. Responsibilities include working with internal and external auditors at all levels in support of the University’s annual financial statement audit, federal Single Audit, various State and Local contract audits, establishing University-wide sponsored research financial compliance policies and programs in accordance with current federal laws and regulations and individual sponsor requirements, maintaining and enhancing University-wide IT solutions to ensure reporting compliance and providing individual and/or group training programs on compliance. This position also serves to perform/oversee other various compliance and data integrity reviews related to University’s sponsored project portfolio. Also acts as in-charge of Sponsored Projects Accounting as necessary. Incumbent must possess knowledge of grants, contracts and cooperative agreements and a general understanding of OMB Uniform Guidance (UG), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to effectively enforce all regulations applicable to Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs).Sponsored Projects AccountingThis position is responsible for overseeing compliance with effort reporting/compensation and subrecipient monitoring, as well as coordinating the completion of a variety of audits and data integrity reviews for the University’s grants and contract portfolio approximating $1.2B annually.
