Retail Shift Lead (Full Time)

Operates point of sale system, reconciles tills and daily sales, processes exchanges and returns, and assists with opening and closing the store. Serves in a lead capacity over other employees and provides day-to-day direction. Designs appealing displays, replenishes stock, and inventories stock and sales rooms. Delivers effective customer service, fulfills order requests, performs overrides and voids, and mitigates escalated customer services issues. The essential functions include:• Excellent customer service skills• Attention to accuracy and details• Basic computer data entry skills• Product knowledge• Process online sales• Assisting customers with a selection of merchandise• Supervision of student workers as well as assigning tasks to student workers• Ensure that student workers are following customer service standards• Ability to operate standard retail equipment• Ability to process a variety of transactions such as cash, checks, bank cards, panther funds, gift certificates & cards, University requisitions, credit memos, and bookstore accounts.The incumbent will receive, stock, and merchandise products daily and be responsible for maintaining the sales floor. The ability to transport up to (50) pounds, spend many hours moving about the store. Participation in off-site events; the incumbent is required to work 37.5 hours per week along with Saturday, Sunday, Holiday, and overtime hours will be required as needed.Physical EffortIncludes sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50lbs.The University of Pittsburgh is committed to championing all aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within our community.
