OpeningFull Time 40 hours Range URG 114 ISD ClinicalsSchedule8 AM-5 PMResponsibilitiesGENERAL PURPOSE:This ScrumMaster II facilitates Agile ways of working in collaboration with our operational partners as well as facilitates cross-functional teams using the Project Management methodology within IT. Demonstrates the ability to coach, influence, guide and demonstrate servant leadership for large-scale enterprise initiatives engaging multiple IT and operational teams simultaneously. The role involves daily communications with IT and healthcare operational stakeholders and leadership on the agile mindset, agile practice and delivery models as well as developing new and improved training resources and ScrumMaster functional artifacts. The ScrumMaster provides facilitation, guidance, direction and coaching to the teams to encourage the adoption of agile practices, works with the team at varying levels of maturity facilitating cross team collaborations on multiple product lines, and empowers the team to become self-directed and self-managing. Performs in a traditional Project Management sense by providing end to end project management services, adhering to established guidelines, standards and conventions for project management including documenting business requirements and driving project success. Executes the Project Management skills by way of teamwork, and collaboration with team leads, application build teams, and various stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of medium to large projects.Demonstrates a high level of communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Possesses a strong background in both Agile and traditional project management practices, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups. Work with product owners to handle coaching and prioritizing backlogs and new requests. Guide the team to organize the Backlog and use tools effectively to understand and deliver the work. Ensure the team deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint. Partner with team to create metrics and dashboards specific to the needs of the team.• Coaches team members in Agile frameworks. Form, train and educate new agile teams that have never practiced agile before. Join existing agile teams and assist in continuing their growth on the agile journey to become a high performing team. Empower the team to identify and remove impediments. Develop team members to adopt an agile mindset. Assist teams to implement changes effectively. Build a productive environment where team members `own¿ the product and enjoy working on it.• Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration. Work with the Product Owner to be one of the points of contact for external communications from customers or stakeholders.• Develop templates and other documentation to help the team accelerate agile execution. Assess the current state and create a growth strategy to move toward the desired future state. Measure and report Agile progress. Observe and provide feedback on process opportunities and team dynamics.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering or other related field required• 3 years of relevant experience required• or an equivalent combination of education and experience required• Knowledge of the scrum framework or other Agile frameworks, with all its artifacts and techniques required• Extensive computer literacy, including experience in Agile management tools (such as Jira, Azure DevOps Project Management, Atlassian, ServiceNow Agile tools), and Microsoft 365 required• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, facilitation and coaching skills required• Experience with Azure DevOps Project Management and ServiceNow preferred• Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Disciplined Agile ScrumMaster (DASM) or PMI Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP) preferred• PMP Certification will be required within 1 year of employmentThe University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University¿s mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create ¿ and Make the World Ever Better. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job¿s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
