For more information, please visit: Information Technology | University of South Florida (usf.edu)POSITION SUMMARY:This position will act as a Scrum Master II on a production team utilizing Scrum methodology and implementing Agile ideology. The Scrum Master II acts as the facilitator for the project and removes impediments for the production team. This position is required to understand theoretical and functional Agile and Scrum values, practices, and applications to provide a higher level of knowledge to the team. This position facilitates and coaches the team during daily stand up, sprint planning, review, and retro scrum ceremonies to promote self-organization. The ultimate goal of an Agile team is to understand business needs and develop optimal business and/or IT solutions in partnership with departmental stakeholders and functional experts. This position is distinguished from other information technology classifications due to the concentration on facilitation and coaching of all agile related activities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Team Management: Make strategic decisions around processes and tools to improve Agile practices and help the team mature. Ensures the team knows Scrum processes to be able to strategically deviate from a principle or practice when necessary. Introduces new teams to Scrum principles and values and guides teams that are currently performing in Scrum framework to become self-organized and efficient in Agile practices.Agile Project Management: Work with the team to identify and resolve impediments for the production team and mediate through conflicts. Coach the Product Owner in writing user stories, product visions, prioritizing backlog, and release planning. Coach the team to maintain Scrum Tools (story board, action board, charts, backlogs, metrics, etc.)Advanced knowledge of computer tools and systems to measure and demonstrate team capacity for resource planning, escalation, etc. Manage and configure Scrum boards and project dashboards for multiple teams.Learning and Development: Actively contribute to Agile and Scrum practices utilized by team members and make recommendations.
