Comprising a total of over 100 employees & a budget of approximately $10.5 M, clients are USF faculty developing international academic experiences, curriculum, and research collaborations, administrators promoting the global priorities of USF, staff responsible for supporting international activities across campuses, colleges, and other units, current and prospective students coming to USF from other countries, and U.S. students seeking global experiences as well as university partners from abroad. Community partners include local, state, national, and international leaders of government and public and private organizations, including other institutions of higher ed, military, business, and industry.POSITION SUMMARY:Global Academic Officer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing USF's programming and events related to the Global Citizens Award (GCA) and the nationally-recognized Peace Corp Prep Program (PCP). The Global Academic Officer will also oversee the Peace Corps Recruiter, and will work directly with the national Peace Corps office to continue USF's performance as a national top-producer of Peace Corps Volunteers. The position will work closely with Education Abroad's outreach and academic units to capitalize on synergies among the Virtual Global Exchange, study abroad and student recruitment activities. As a professional employee, the person must be willing to work beyond normal business hours to serve student needs, particularly during peak times, including some travel between OneUSF offices. The incumbent is expected to work on behalf of students, the Education Abroad Office, USF World and the USF Community, and to collaborate with faculty and alumni.RESPONSIBILITIES:Identifies, updates and manages the program criteria for the Global Citizens Award and Peace Corps Prep programs. Identify existing global academic and extra-curricular criteria that will support students completion of the GCA and/or PCP for USF students.Oversees recruitment to the GCA and PCP programs as well as for applications to the Peace Corps Volunteer. Participates in university programming initiatives such as freshman and transfer orientations, Week of Welcome, parents weekend, BullMarket,and USF World programming for students across OneUSF.Develops program activities, speaker series and workshops. Liaises with academic units to develop programming that will support the goals of the programs.This position will develop and implement strategies to encourage retention and completion of programs and will ensure that students who successfully complete the GCA are recognized in graduation. This position will be responsible for managing student applications for the GCA and PCP programs using TDS, Canvas and Banner.Oversee and support the development and the approval processes for new courses developed by faculty for the GCPC attribute.Performs other duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM:This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with a least one year of experience in student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master's Degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration.FLSB1310 Equivalency:4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.PREFERRED:A minimum of one year of professional experience working in an office environment.SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Teams.
