For Academic Year 2025-2026, McCombs School of Business is looking for a high energy, strategic and growth minded student employee to provide support for Kendra Scott WELI.

The Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute (KS WELI) at The University of Texas at Austin will strengthen the next generation of courageous, creative women leaders who will change the world — in business and beyond. Purpose

The Programming Intern will assist with The Program Intern will play a critical role in supporting the KS WELI Program and Events, which is dedicated to empowering the next generation of creative and courageous early-stage founders. The intern will assist in the execution of all Program initiatives, including entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial workshops, speakers, community engagement, and event support. This role will provide hands-on experience in program coordination, event planning, and community building within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison with partners across campus and in the community, ensuring the right parties and sponsors are plugged in to support our community and can ensure to work with other intern teams for execution. 
  • Promote and present the KS WELI throughout campus and participate in events, presentations, speaker series, and resources that help with engagement and awareness.
  • Be instrumental in creating processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation and execution of all events and programming hosted by KS WELI
  • Drive Program interest through support of social media campaigns, promotional kits, email marketing, and in-person outreach.
  • Support the development of a mentorship program and platform through partnerships with community leaders, relationships and other avenues. 
  • Lead the execution of the Programs & Events efforts of KS WELI
  • Lead the execution and assist in planning of KS WELI Signature Events, Entrepreneurial and Intrapreneurial Events and liaison for Student Board Events. 
  • Become a leader and advocate on campus for entrepreneurship, strong knowledge of academic opportunities, organizational offerings and other ecosystem services. 
  • Work within the Slack Project Management Tool for effective communication and assignment of event related tasks.
  • Ensure KS WELI Programming and Events are top tier through intensive focus on detail of all physical, virtual and logistical assets. 
  • Support Program workshops by supporting speaker’s needs, logistics, material preparation and more. Ensure Professional Level Execution of events and programs. 
  • Oversee event logistics with other interns, including Eventbrite registration, tracking attendance, coordinating speakers and catering, and managing post-event feedback and promotion.
  • Ensure seamless event execution by checking in attendees, managing event setup, and maintaining a professional atmosphere.
  • Update the KS WELI CRM with founder information, utilizing the CRM and network to enhance programming.
  • Collaborate with staff and interns to ensure smooth coordination of program activities.
  • Contribute new ideas for programming initiatives to support founder development.
  • Manage the Slack channel by fostering engagement, sharing updates, and promoting business opportunities within the cohort.
  • Promote and present the KS WELI throughout campus and participate in events, presentations, speaker series, and resources that help with engagement and awareness.
  • Be instrumental in creating processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operation during all events and programming hosted by KS WELI
  • Conduct research for KS WELI-related projects as needed
  • Participate in regular training and development activities to promote team building and collaboration, as well as individual development
  • 10-15 Hours weekly commitment. Active communication style is essential. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Experience creating processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective execution of every Program and Event hosted by the KS WELI
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience with Canva, Eventbrite, Slack, and other digital platforms is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of the entrepreneurial and venture ecosystem. The willingness to learn is preferred. 
  • Writing and proofing skills are also required, technology mastery is critical across software and hardware platforms. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and administrative skills. Responsive communication (less than 24 hours latest), Respectful to other interns and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within an identified timeline
  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Slack, Click Up, and/or Airtable preferred.
  • Available to work 10-15 hours per week during the semester, typically between the hours of 9 AM - 5PM. CST, with occasional nights and weekends for networking events where applicable.
  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Optional: Work-Study award for the semester.

Hourly Rate:

  • $10 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.

Schedule Work Shift:

  • 10-15 hours per week
  • Position ends on 05/31/2026
  • Optional: Must be available to consistently work evenings and weekends.
  • Optional: Rehire eligible based on performance.
