Job Summary:The Wisconsin Union is looking for a food service professional to join our team that runs three popular dining spots in Union South - Ginger Root, Cantina, and Harvest Grains. These three units have an estimated annual sales volume of $2.25 million. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will play a key part in ensuring that they operate efficiently, produce high quality food and meet our customer service standards. We look forward to reading your application.Responsibilities:Oversees daily food service operations and performs food preparation activities in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals.• 30% Assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff• 5% Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations• 30% Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities• 20% Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods• 10% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas• 5% Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and proceduresTasks:• Plans and facilitates Badger Bash, Welcome Week, Sunburst Festiva, and other special events.Institutional Statement on Diversity:Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. During the Academic year this position will be at Union South Monday - Friday and special event weekends. This position is also eligible for a weekend pay differential of $0.80 per hour for hours worked between 12:01 am on Saturday and 12:00 midnight on Sunday.Additional Information:The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.Student Affairs is led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
