The SSEC's history of developing a diverseset of instruments ranges from the first weather satellite, toaircraft instruments monitoring the atmosphere, and to ground basedatmospheric observing instrumentation. The challenge of operatingresearch systems, in these environments, requires a broad set ofdisciplines and skills from the team of people involved. Thisdynamic environment requires us to learn about new scientificadvances, systems and technologies on a regular basis. SSEC'smission supports faculty and academic staff lead research with thedevelopment, fabrication, and implementation of experiments and newscientific research tools for national and international use.The successful candidate will provide technical support for aNational Weather Service (NWS) contract and SSEC's Satellite DataServices (SDS) Data Center operations.
