The position exists to review, analyze andrecommend improvements to internal controls, evaluate thereliability and integrity of financial and operational information,review compliance with laws, policies, and regulations and composefindings into useful and understandable reports that are deliveredto management and administration. This person is responsible forfollowing developed audit programs or developing new audit programsand performing the test work necessary to provide an evaluation ofmanagement's compliance with policies, rules and regulations, andmaintaining good stewardship of university resources. Thisindividual must interact with University employees at every leveland be able to provide constructive input effectively andthoughtfully.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Participate in the risk assessment process ensuring it iseffective, collaborative, and inclusive. Analyze the riskassessment results against the organization's strategic goals,financial impact, and the external environment to support thedevelopment of the annual risk-based audit plan.• Follow the audit plan as applicable to the areas beingreviewed.• Complete test work for audit and summarize findings in a clearand concise audit work papers.• Monitor changes in the organizational risk profile and/oroperational environment and make recommendations to modify theannual plan and to accommodate management requests for additionalaudit and advisory work.• Conduct complex operational, financial, and compliance auditprojects. Perform analysis of business processes that includeidentifying and defining issues/recommendations, developingcriteria, reviewing, analyzing relevant information, evaluatingevidence, documenting business processes, procedures, andcompleting audit documentation.• Communicate results of audits and projects via writtenreports.• Provide technical assistance to employees on matters related tointernal audits and controls.• Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics, Global Internal AuditingStandards, and Practice Advisories as promulgated by theInstitution of Internal Auditors.• Perform all duties in accordance with college policies,procedures, values.• Keep abreast of higher education trends, rules and regulationsrelated to the internal auditing profession.• Maintain personal proficiency by obtaining continuingeducation.• Supervise and mentor entry-level auditors and interns asrequired.• Perform other duties as assigned.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:Supervise and mentor student interns as needed and support alearning environment with a focus on student success.COMPETENCIES:Strong analytical aptitude and ability to work with datainterrogation software such as IDEA and/or ACL.WORK LOCATION:This position provides vital support to campus customers andrequires the successful candidate be available to work oncampus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.• A minimum of 3 years of broad-based business experience.• A minimum of 3 years working in the auditing profession.• Skilled in the use of Excel, Word and other business-relatedsoftware to prepare spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, and other reports,memos, summaries, and analyses.• Evidence of excellent analytical skills including collectingand analyzing complex data and evaluating information.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Financeor related field.• CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA or similar certification, or substantialprogress toward certification and commitment to obtaincertification within two years of start date.• Experience in Oracle financial cloud-based systems,particularly university-related account analysis and reportingtools.• Experience in University accounting/auditing.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.REQUIRED MATERIALS:Complete the online application and upload the following for acomplete application: cover letter, resume or C.V. and contactinformation for four work-related references.
