Unix Systems Administrator

Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise for design and support of Unix Enterprise Infrastructure systems. This includes knowledge of multiple Unix solutions included but not limited to – RedHat Linux, AIX, Ansible, Backup solutions, Openshift / Docker Kubernetes, VMWare, AWS/ AZURE cloud VM solutions, Service Now ITIL and Vulnerability Management.
Ensure the seamless integration and synchronization of business applications, security, and infrastructure technologies.
Responsible for assisting on the planning and designing of servers operating system deployments and storage system changes. This includes installation and upgrades, tuning, structure, documentation, 24x7 operational support, process maintenance, change and incident management, and security/data protection.
Participate in the development of infrastructure requirements with the business, architecture group, and solution teams. Communicate within project teams to set deliverables and expectations (time/resource requirements). Help lead the introduction of new/incoming technology projects into production.
Responsible for production support, design, planning, implementation, functional testing, troubleshooting, and protection of BCBSMA corporate assets. Involves proactive monitoring of systems to support both existing and new applications. Includes security/performance monitoring, configuration management, issue escalation and resolution, systems engineering, administration, security documentation, and strategic technical planning.
Work closely with Architects, Developers, Business Analysts and Project Managers sharing deep technical expertise in multiple server operating systems and/or storage platforms.
Experience/Education
10 years Server/OS/Storage Admin experience.
Expert with Unix platforms, RHEL, AIX, preferred.
Knowledge of Backup solutions
Expert analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong scripting skills/ability to automate processes
VMware, Storage solutions, Docker solutions, Vulnerability Mangement and Network knowledge
Experience in Monitoring Solutions – Nagios, Ganglia, Solarwinds etc..
Knowledge of HA and Disaster Recovery Solutions
Collaboration technologies (Teams, Zoom, WEBEX).
Service Now ITIL, or other ITIL solutions
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field (or its equivalent)

Salary Range: $122,940.00 - $150,260.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
