Job Description:
Unizin is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a part-time Community Manager for the Teaching and Learning Advisory Group (T&L).
These groups allow our consortium members to share ideas and best practices, and ultimately build things together that may have been difficult to accomplish separately.
The T&L groups are broken into the following subject matter areas:
• Accessibility
• Affordable Content
• Application Developers
• Faculty Development
• Learning Analytics
• Learning Tools, Strategies, & Operations
• Libraries
• eTexts Community of Practice
The Community Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting administrative tasks, fostering collaboration among member institutions, and facilitating the growth and effectiveness of our subcommittees.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
• Centralize Zoom calls for meetings, ensuring smooth communication and coordination
• Manage scheduling across universities to facilitate efficient meetings and events
• Assist in maintaining shared Google Sites, ensuring they are up-to-date and organized
Community Engagement:
• Foster a sense of community among members, encouraging active participation and collaboration
• Train members on best practices for utilizing shared resources and platforms effectively
• Act as a liaison between subcommittees, facilitating communication and knowledge-sharing
Subject Matter Expertise:
• Become a subject matter expert for each of the subcommittees within the Advisory Group
• Help subcommittees identify opportunities for overlap, sharing, and collaboration
• Assist in developing topics and agendas for meetings, ensuring they align with strategic priorities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, communications, or a related field
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using Zoom, Google Sites, and other collaboration tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
• Experience in higher education or educational technology is preferred but not required
