I'm writing a children's book based on my two dogs (alaskan malamute- Max, yellow lab- Murphy) and cat, Gus. The story line will consist of the three of them out on some type of adventure where they run into a problem and then the resolution will have a teaching concept to it.
I'm new to this and really do not know what the process looks like but I wanted to put my feelers out there...
I'm hoping to make this book a series if the first one goes well.
The style I'm going for is similar to Mike Boldt's work in the book "Bad Dog" and "Don't Eat Bees".
• *A little about Max, Murphy, and Gus**
Max: Max is a 6-month-old, 75lb, Alaskan malamute/ German Shepherd. We often forget he is still a puppy due to his size! We're quickly reminded when he starts terrorizing Murph and Gus, and chews things he shouldn't. Dirty socks are his favorite snack and he's thrown up whole socks on multiple occasions. Max is a sweetheart and cuddle bug who is anxiously awaiting for winter to return. He also enjoys a good hike and swim though.
Murphy: Murphy is a handsome 7-year-old yellow lab who has endless energy for chasing balls, going on hikes, and swimming. He is a gentle soul and does a great job tolerating his annoying little brother and human little brothers. Murphy loves pizza and pretty much every other people food and can be very hard headed if he is smells something he likes.
Gus: About a year ago we took Gus in from some friends who couldn't keep him. Gus is a BOSS kitty and doesn't take **** from anyone, especially Max. Gus is more like a dog and loves to lay on his back and get belly rubs. He's a great hunter and the most chill, unbothered cat I have ever met
