Video Editor - Part-time - Gaming YouTube Videos - job 1 of 2

PLEASE READ ENTIRE JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING. We are looking for an intermediate video editor to edit gameplay of 3~4 players into entertaining YouTube videos... Previous experience with editing strongly preferred. You must be able to add music, text and make our videos look professional. Must enjoy and understand mainstream video games. An understanding of Call of Duty Zombies will be most helpful as we play that a lot. More info about the position: This position would lie somewhere between freelance and part-time. You will be sent fairly consistent videos to edit and paid a flat rate for each video. You would be taking raw footage from 3~4 separate POVs (totaling usually between 1 to 3 hours) and editing it down to a 20 to 40 minute entertaining YouTube Video. Our Payment structure for all our editors is as follows: $75 US dollars minimum per video: 0 to 3 hours of footage. $12 US dollars for every hour of footage after the first 3. Example: For 8 hours of footage, you would be paid $75 USD for the first 3 hours of footage and $12 USD each for the remaining 5 hours of footage for a total payment of $135 USD upon return of the YouTube ready video. How many hours it takes you to edit will not affect this flat rate. Edit at your own pace. With this posting, we are looking to add an additional editor to our team to increase the frequency that we post without putting strain on our main editor. We are looking for skilled, yet entry-level editors looking to build a portfolio and help us grow our channel. If your edits are good, it will play a direct role in growing our channel, which would lead to our budget increasing along with your pay. If you choose to continue working with us long term, your pay will increase. More info about our channel: Our YouTube channel is titled "Snack & Slash”, and the channel description is "Gaming challenges and comedy." Channel link: Youtube.com/SnackAndSlash We hired a few editors off of Upwork in May of last year and since then have gained 1,300 new subscribers, bringing us to around 1.6k as of typing this posting. Our content consists of 3~4 friends attempting gaming challenges while making borderline stand-up comedy style jokes and bits, heavily edited down to just the most interesting/funny parts. A majority of our content has come from playing Call of Duty Zombies as we had some initial success with those videos and wanted to produce similar content. However, we are now looking to diversify and play more games, in addition to continuing to post CoD Zombies content. An example video of the style of editing that our existing editors use can be found here: https://youtu.be/ipnFZmK0i3M?si=aq3MjFZJ_1rNY5Ft YOU WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO FULLY MATCH THIS STYLE. This is just a reference of our content. Feel free to use whatever editing style you feel produces the best finished video. You will have free range to choose what content is cut and what stays. Note that the above reference video has 3 different POVs. A lot of our recordings will have multiple POVs since our channel is made up of 4 members. Depending on your editing skills, please be aware that you will be asked to edit a video with multiple POVs that need to be synced. It’s a fairly simple process, it just might not be something you’ve been asked to do before. Also, some computers may struggle to handle editing 3 videos at once. The hiring process for this posting: 1. Once you have applied and answered the application questions, we will shortlist promising candidates based off of those answers. 2. If you are selected for the shortlist, we will send you some test footage of a CoD Zombies video we recorded. You will be asked to edit the first 5 minutes of what would be a final edit of the video. 3. Once we have received the 5-minute edits from the shortlisted applicants and we will make a hiring decision based on those submissions. 4. Test edits will be heavily graded on the pacing (cutting the correct amount of dead air or boring gameplay), but also on visual edits (Flashy text, on-screen graphics, and perspective zooms.) 5. If we like multiple applicants, we may choice to hire more than one additional editor. If those terms sound reasonable to you, please apply now. We look forward to hearing from you
