How is the Business Intelligence Analyst role positioned?
The Business Intelligence Analyst resides on the Business Partnerships team within Distribution Intelligence. Distribution Intelligence is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of core distribution reporting, data visualization, CRM, data quality, integration of the data within systems, and analysis and insights of the data. The Analyst will bring all of these areas together to drive strategy and inform best-in-class solutions in partnership with sales leadership to drive sales, retain assets, and diversify FT’s client base.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Business Intelligence Analyst?
Be an advocate for enhanced data usage and analytics within the organization
Use industry research, data, and trends to influence distribution strategy
Proactively provide insights and recommendations to internal partners based on data, analyses, and understanding of industry trends
Partner with, and support, homegrown data technology (E.g. Next Best Action) and gain backing and usage from senior leaders
Supports our foundational sales segmentation model that enables differentiated client coverage by sales and marketing
Builds reports and dashboards which answer specific questions for a business unit or business leader (SQL highly preferred)
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Viewed as an expert in the industry in at least one data domain across:
Sales & AUM
Client Engagement
Competitors & Industry Data
Strong structural understanding of the Funds Distribution business as whole, and the many functions that drive it including the likes of
Home-office Broker Dealer (BD) National Accounts
Territory sales coverage models and segmentation culture
Morningstar data (performance, asset classes, flows, ratings, etc)
CRM data and activities
Industry research, data, and consultants such as Cerulli, SSC, and McKinsey
What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?
Has expertise in one or multiple analytic techniques (Data Visualization, Automated Reporting, Data Science, etc.)
Leverage advanced tools, such as R, Python and H2O to better understand data and glean insights.
Build predictive models leveraging machine learning algorithms to bring forward timely, actionable insights.

At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $135,000.00 and $160,000.00.
