We are looking for a US Content Writer, based in the UK with strong writing skills and a passion for creating stand-out content to join our growing in-house marketing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism, a knack for developing fresh and inventive content, extensive experience writing SEO blogs, and a good understanding of how to communicate with the GoHenry customer.

You will be responsible for researching and writing SEO blog content, and ensuring that blogs are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and SEO optimised. You will work closely with our Content Editor and Director of SEO to mainly drive SEO content, and be comfortable working with different areas of the business to dig out information for blog articles.

You will report into the Content Editor, overseeing day-to-day management of the US CMS, including publishing blogs, sourcing images and optimising content.

What you’ll do


Working alongside the Content Editor and Director of SEO, you will help develop content to reflect business objectives, product launches and seasonal events, and drive growth, engagement and retention. You will play a key role in localising existing UK content for our US audience. You will help incorporate our community stories into our blog content, interview experts in different areas of the industry and produce, optimise and publish GoHenry blog content, in line with SEO research and recommendations.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Writing high quality SEO blogs based around keyword gaps / priorities identified by the SEO Director, which are well-written, provide value, are engaging, useful and true to our brand voice.
  • Writing blogs that blend SEO and brand so that our own lifestyle content ideas work harder for SEO.
  • Ensuring all blogs are SEO optimised and revise content as necessary to meet our content quality standards.
  • Writing general blog content about product features, launches and campaigns which also link back to SEO keywords.
  • Ensuring that new blogs are fully linked to existing content, and keeping this updated on a monthly basis.
  • Sourcing images for blogs.
  • Managing publication of blogs, including adding content, alt text and links to the GoHenry CMS.
  • Sourcing and working with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and useful.
  • Incorporating our community stories within blog articles.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven editorial skills and a background in journalism.
  • At least five years experience writing SEO blog content.
  • Experience writing long-form, in-depth blog content that addresses its target keyword’s search intent.
  • A passion for storytelling and finding new ways to deliver key messages.
  • A strong community focus with a passion for people stories.
  • Experience using CMS platforms.
  • Experience working within or for a consumer business (FinTech would be useful).
  • Confident working with agencies, senior stakeholders, and wider team members to deliver on the company’s SEO and content strategy.
  • Exceptional and engaging writing skills twinned with the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks.

Bonus experience

  • Experience working with influencers
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related field
  • Experience creating blog content within the YMYL space
