We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be in our San Antonio, TX location. We’re seeking (2) Business Strategy & Planning Mangers to join our Policy Modernization team (1 will support Auto/Umbrella and the other will support Property). This is your chance to be a part of transforming P&C by helping manage cutting-edge programs and strategies fueled by our new policy administration system, Guidewire, and underwriting and rating software, Earnix. You’ll have to be highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of proactively connecting dots across multiple teams and projects as the program has dozens of concurrent workstreams. Are you ready to: • Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them. • Synthesize takeaways from complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods. • Work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and partners to act. • Establish trust-based relationships with Modernization peers to better serve PolicyMod. • Develop your leadership style, leveraging your own passions, strengths, and personal values. Provides support to executive management to identify, develop and communicate specific business strategies across P&C functional areas, utilizing advanced knowledge of USAA, industry, business development, and financial planning. Conducts strategic analyses of business needs and environmental trends in support of business strategy development and planning processes and, as appropriate, enterprise strategy and planning processes. Conducts business strategy reviews to assess progress and drive awareness to leaders of strategy achievement. What you’ll do: • Guides development and coordination of P&C strategy. • Works with P&C executive management to establish strategic framework to enable short and long-term business goals and objectives. • Identifies and implements specific processes to lead the business strategic and operational planning process. • Maintains and aligns business process and frameworks to USAA enterprise strategy process and framework. • Builds and maintains P&C specific strategic and operational roadmaps to ensure deliverables are met (current and future). • Supports integration of change management plans and strategies for large, complex business specific initiatives that align with change management practices. • Performs primary and secondary research and makes recommendations based on emerging trends, competitive threats, business process improvement, and opportunities. • Guides team members as they perform research and analysis. • Supports P&C executive leadership with the design and coordination of the annual strategic planning and operational planning processes. • Assembles key participants and guides and facilitates cross-functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of business solutions. • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. • 6 years of directly related business planning consultation with experience contributing to the development of business strategy short-term and/or long-term goals. • Effective facilitation experience to include executive level communication and ability to influence. • Experience in Project Management. • Strong business acumen in financial services or related industry, and a proven ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation skills. • Demonstrated analytical skills, an ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives. What sets you apart: • Experience in Property & Casualty insurance. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing efforts in alignment with team objectives. • Proven in synthesizing complex concepts and tailoring outputs for executive audiences. • Business process management and improvement (continuous improvement) experience. • Prior budgeting and financial management experience. • SharePoint and/or design experience a plus. What we offer: Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $81,770 - $147,190. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
