In this position, you will play a key role in the expansion of training grants and fellowships to support students at the Graduate School This includes providing essential data and information to faculty submitting training grants and assisting students with external fellowship submissions. Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.Position Key Accountabilities:• Develop comprehensive templates and resources for faculty investigators and fellowship applicants, facilitating the application process for both new awards and renewals.• Collect and organize essential data for training grant tables to support the submission of high-quality grant applications.• Track and analyze the success rates of awarded training grants and fellowships, and provide regular reports on outcomes.• Lead educational workshops and perform outreach to faculty, programs, and students on available resources for future submissions.• Provide individual consultations for faculty investigators and fellowship applicants; identify and disseminate training grant and fellowship opportunities from the NIH and other foundations.• Assist in the GSBS fellowship proposal course and review materials for fellowship award applicants, including first-time submissions and resubmissions.• Stay updated on industry trends, funding agency regulations, and changes in fellowship and training grant policies.• Other duties as assigned.Certification/Skills:• Proficiency in data management and analysis tools/software, preferred.• Understanding of NIH grant policies and procedures, required.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Minimum Education:• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education, required.• MS or PhD in biomedical sciences or related areas of science, preferred.Minimum Experience:• Five (5) years of applicable experience.Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215Residency Requirement:Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
