UX Research Project Manager
Greater Philadelphia, PA (remote - EST hours)
5 month rolling contract
As the User Experience (UX) Research Project Manager, you will play a critical role in enabling the operations of our client's UX research team. Our UX research practice is aligned to our larger human-centered design approach to delivering exceptional customer and employee experiences. Your expertise in research operations will ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the team – allowing UX researchers to focus on leading research projects from start to finish. Our UX research team supports customer journeys such as paying bills, reporting outages, starting and stopping service, shopping for rates,
improving energy efficiency, and enrolling in financial assistance programs.

Job Responsibilities
1. Work intake management:
- Manage the work intake process for the user experience research team, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives, timelines, and resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize research initiatives based on business goals, user impact, and resource availability.
- Maintain the team’s backlog, ensuring work visibility and tracking of project statuses.
2. Data management, governance, and insights repository:
- Maintain and improve data management processes, including the organization, storage, and retention of research data.
- Implement data governance practices, including data security and privacy, in
compliance with our client's regulations.
- Maintain and improve system for managing centralized research assets, such as data
collection instruments, project plans, and process documentation.
- Maintain and improve our research insights repository to continue to increase the
impact of research across the organization.
3. Agile events facilitation:
- Facilitate UX research team meetings/events such as sprint planning, team huddles,
and retrospectives.
4. Research operations improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance research operations workflows, methodologies, and tools to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify and implement best practices in research operations management, driving
standardization and consistency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in research operations,
recommending improvements to enhance team capabilities.
5. Collaboration and partnership:
- Foster strong collaboration between the UX research team and cross-functional
stakeholders, including designers, product managers, and engineers.
- Partner with design operations to align processes and ways of working.
- Establish effective communication channels and processes to ensure clear and timely
exchange of information.
- Advocate for the importance of research operations, promoting the value it brings to the overall user experience strategy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience
Strong experience supporting the operations of UX or Product teams; preferably in an agency environment (in-house or external).
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine operational
improvements.
- Experience working with partners to manage customer participation panels.
- Experience maintaining schedules and backlogs using current tools.
- Knowledge of organizing and maintaining research repositories using current tools (e.g., EnjoyHQ, Dovetail, Confluence, wikis).
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to scope work, prioritize tasks, and deliver on schedule
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
