Our nonprofit client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee investment accounting and financial reporting activities. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting, investment management, and financial reporting.Key Responsibilities:• Investment Management:• Oversee the management of investment sub-accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial records related to deposits, withdrawals, and other transactions.• Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial activities, including the preparation of statements and reconciliation of accounts.• Manage the accounting for donor-advised funds and other investment vehicles, ensuring timely processing of transactions and accurate reporting.• Administer investment accounting for various funds, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.• Financial Reporting:• Lead the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting standards.• Support financial audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure the accuracy of financial reports and to support strategic decision-making.• Assist in the creation and updating of financial models and reports for management review.• Cash Management:• Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.• Coordinate with internal teams to manage cash requirements and optimize the use of funds.• Oversee the preparation and posting of journal entries related to cash management and investment activities.• Compliance & Process Improvement:• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements in all financial activities.• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance and accounting functions, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as needed to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in nonprofit accounting.• Must have experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, and financial reporting.• Strong technical skills in accounting software and advanced Excel.• Microsoft Great Plains experience preferred.• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.What Our Client Offers:• Competitive compensation and benefits package.• A supportive work environment with an emphasis on community involvement.
