Staff Software Engineer, Frontend Platform

Vanta’s product monitors the security posture for thousands of companies, pulling tens of millions of API calls of data per day, pushing information from hundreds of thousands of laptop agents, and running tests against that data continuously to identify potential security threats. Our frontend infrastructure and tooling need to stay ahead of exponential growth in our customer base. As a Senior Software Engineer at Vanta, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction to provide a strong foundation for our frontend stack and enable our infrastructure to scale with our business. You will also drive complex projects across our technical stack and mentor our talented engineering team. Your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth.

What you’ll do as a Staff Software Engineer at Vanta:

• Set direction for our frontend infrastructure strategy to support a quickly growing number of engineers

• Build and maintain frontend developer experience and testing infrastructure

• Ensure our frontend monitoring is robust and that our app is performant 

• Advocate for product quality and collaborate with product engineering teams on cross cutting issues, such as web performance

How to be successful in this role:

• Experience on platform team

• Experience working with multiple FE testing frameworks and bundlers / tools (Mocha, Jest, Webpack vs Parcel, etc)

• Strong evidence of having set technical direction on a platform team

• Self-driven, has experience driving things from end to end

• Strong collaboration skills across a wide area; this person will be working with engineers across the company

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $217,000 - $255,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
