Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Avionics

Vast is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Avionics to contribute to the development and maintenance of avionics hardware for their commercial space station. This person will work in Long Beach, California and collaborate with various teams to ensure highly reliable electronics for space exploration.

Skills

Avionics design, analysis, and unit level testing
PCBA design and Altium or similar software
Knowledge of electrical schematics, electronics manufacturing, and related tools/equipment
Experience with wire harness design, NX or similar CAD software, and electrical test equipment
Strong problem-solving skills, risk assessment, and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain avionics hardware for the commercial space station
Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams for design and development
Analyze and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, design circuits, and identify improvement opportunities
Support flight hardware from conception to flight operations and mission support
Define acceptance testing and qualification requirements, perform testing, and document results
Travel to launch sites for testing and operations

Education

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
