Software Engineer (Imaging/Graphics, Remote)

Are you interested in solving hard problems? Do you enjoy engineering projects that are more math-intensive? Are passionate about 3D modeling, graphics, and collaborating with multiple engineering teams?

You will work with large code bases and modern graphics pipelines. You will use your math prowess to write algorithms that process, interact with, and visualize 3D objects in Vectorworks. Your contributions will be visible to all users, leaving a lasting mark on our software.

The user interaction team builds anything the user interacts with on the screen when designing one of our four Computer Aided Design applications. This team is the glue of all engineering teams at Vectorworks. We touch what all the other teams are working on and put it together to give the user an entry point into the software.

In this role you will:

• Design and code software product components based on detailed specifications.
• Determine and document user requirements for task overviews.
• Create and review feature and project designs.
• Implement projects according to design specifications.
• Test development code and conduct peer reviews.
• Investigate bugs and determine appropriate fixes.
• Collaborate and provide technical assistance to others.
• Perform competitive analysis when necessary.

Here is what success looks like:

• Proficiency in C++
•  Geometry/Graphics knowledge, including matrix and vector manipulation
• Exceptional math skills
• Practical knowledge of Mac and/or Windows operating systems

Extra Credit:

• Knowledge of 2D computer graphics and imaging, architecture, user interface
• Exposure to OpenGL, DirectX, Vulcan, Metal and/or rendering techniques
• All around development skills in software and systems: C++, build systems, test systems, etc.
• Familiarity with multithreading
• Experience with PDF generation and printing
