Position Summary:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the Nordex vehicle fleet including vehicle need assessments, managing vehicle leasing functions, managing maintenance records, overseeing the annual MVR process, and monitoring vehicle use according to the Nordex Safe Driving policy. The Fleet Manager also serves as the fleet systems owner, responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating reports from fleet management systems to ensure quality service and operational effectiveness. Ensures compliance with government rules and regulations and files paperwork in support of this compliance as needed including vehicle registrations and ensuring vehicles are insured. Coordinates and administers driver training and safety programs. The Nordex Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing a large fleet (350+) of non-commercial vehicles, primarily pick-up trucks used by wind farm site technicians.
Responsibilities:
· Gather needs from operational groups, coordinate demand and scheduling with Procurement for order execution.
· Monitor vehicle maintenance with the operational teams, ensuring accurate records of each vehicle’s preventive maintenance are maintained.
· Manage vehicle leasing program with the support of Procurement and operational managers who budget vehicle expenses.
· Ensure each vehicle is equipped with fuel cards, current insurance information and current registration. Ensure vehicle registration matches the correct state when vehicle must be transferred between Nordex sites.
· Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed
· Managing vehicle licensure and registration
· Administer annual Motor Vehicle record checks on all drivers to ensure driving eligibility.
· Develop and provide Safe Driving training.
· Monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence proper driving practices, this may include the use of telematics and other data reporting procedures.
· Work with Operational Managers to ensure drivers are performing vehicle inspections and findings are addressed.
· Support Operational Managers to procure vehicle equipment such as fire extinguishers, toolboxes, cones, company branding materials, etc.
· Develop and provide reports to management on budgeting, maintenance, vehicle accidents and other fleet related metrics.
· Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency.
· Supports the field operations and fleet in the development of standards, procedures, long range planning and budgeting.
· Makes suggestions to improve existing processes including those that impact safe driving behaviors.
· May communicate federal, state and city standards and regulations regarding motor vehicle safety and operations to staff.
· Utilizes a computerized data information system for reporting, record-keeping, analyses and evaluation purposes; determines appropriate solutions to various operational and administrative problems in such areas as preventive maintenance, vehicle availability, vehicle life-cycle costing, risk management and other fleet related areas.
· Manages timely and accurate record keeping systems.
Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Business, or a combination of academic work and relevant work experience
· Proven experience of more than one year in fleet management
· Good communication and ability to work effectively with work groups across the organization
· Great organizational skills
· Incredible time management skills
· Ability to analyze large sets of data and draw conclusions
· Excellent attention to detail
· Great knowledge of vehicles and understands vehicle maintenance
· Excellent knowledge of safety rules, regulations, laws, and precautions involved in the Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and related equipment
· Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
· Effective change and conflict management. Proven decision-making ability with balanced risk taking. Applies expertise to get results leveraging group interaction and areas of specialty.
· PC Computer skills (MS Office) required.
· Experience in managing a large fleet of vehicles (100+) and resolving issues related to utilization, maintenance, leasing, and repairs.
· Travel to sites and locations as required (<10% travel)
· Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

Pay: $87,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
