Senior Data Analyst

We are a Series A SaaS company and provide the system of record for event marketing. Our software platform provides proprietary insights that helps high-growth companies find the highest ROI events, conferences and trade shows to attend and sponsor. We have built an AI-powered platform that customers describe as an event marketer’s dream.

Vendelux was founded in 2021, and our recent $14 million Series A was led by FirstMark, whose portfolio includes companies like Shopify, Pinterest, Discord, Airbnb, Draft Kings, Carta and Justworks (amongst others). Our leadership team includes alumni from Shutterstock, Bain, CB Insights, Button, ZoomInfo and Compass.

As a Senior Data Analyst at Vendelux you will be responsible for building and maintaining business intelligence solutions, leveraging data to drive business decisions and identify customer retention and growth opportunities. You will apply methods in data warehousing, data analysis, and data visualization to develop a strong foundation for data-driven decision making at the company. You will leverage your strong leadership and collaboration skills to work across teams to define KPIs to understand and measure product performance and customer insights. 

We are looking for candidates who have a relentless curiosity to understand the underlying reasons behind trends and outcomes, and the technical skills to build the data foundations that will support the ability to uncover those insights. This role would require at least 3-4 days onsite in our NYC office.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Architect and build data warehouses and data marts by integrating data from various sources.

  • Work with engineering and business teams to understand data models, gather requirements, and design accurate and actionable business intelligence solutions.

  • Define, measure, and monitor KPIs that reflect underlying business dynamics. Develop dashboards to track progress towards key results.

  • Design customer-facing dashboards and visualizations to share insights and recommendations from our platform.

  • Lead the application of advanced analytics to model user behavior and uncover drivers of growth. 

  • Use data to generate actionable recommendations to optimize performance and drive business results.

  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and customer teams to share findings, implement recommendations, and generate feedback loops. 

  • Communicate insights and results to peers and leaders, promoting a culture of collaboration and learning across teams via mentoring, documentation, presentations, or other knowledge-sharing methods.

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to our processes and tools. We're early and the expectation of folks joining at this stage is that you'll play a huge part in setting and improving how we work. 

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant data analytics or business intelligence experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering etc.).

  • Strong proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau or equivalent, cloud data warehouses.

  • Data model optimization skills to make BI processes more efficient and relevant.

  • Experience applying advanced analytics, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization as needed to uncover and communicate insights from data.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations, tailoring communications to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Execute tasks independently, with a strong ability to contextualize business performance. 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Previous startup experience or equivalent preferred.
