The employee will be a member of our Government Relations team and will work collaboratively across teams to acquire and maintain new data sources. Interest in big data, tech, FOIA, government transparency is a plus.This is a full-time position hybrid with a 2x a week in-office requirement at our Jersey City, NJ location.Responsibilities:Reporting to our Lead for Data Continuity, this key role provides data acquisition and works directly with our Government Relations team members. As a member of our Government Relations team your duties will include:• Establishing contact with judicial, law enforcement, and other governmental agencies to make formal public records requests.• Negotiating conditions of access to government held data.• Establishing and maintaining relationships with government employees and officials.• Building personal and professional relationships with custodians of records.• Ensuring that agreements and required forms are appropriately maintained, updated, and changed as required.• Advising on strategic approaches in data acquisition.• Working closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure records are received and processed in a timely manner.• Coordinating billing efforts between Accounting and Agency contactsQualifications• You are a clear communicator with strong verbal and written skills that delivers persuasive communications that foster effective and collaborative working relationships with outside agencies and internal business teams.• You are highly skilled in relationship building with a myriad of groups and people.• You are detailed oriented and able to follow through on multiple step processes on a repetitive basis with an elevated level of accuracy, including email management, phone calls, and data entry.• You are highly organized with an aptitude for planning which allows you to manage multiple assignments and prioritize accordingly and work hard to make sure your work is complete and delivered on time.• You meet a challenge with your creative critical thinking skills but are never afraid to ask for clarification or help when needed. You gladly help and support to your team members whenever necessary.• You are initiative-taking and able to keep up with all assignments while working remotely. However, working remotely still means you will have daily contact with your team via virtual chats, messages, and meetings.• You may have experience in administrative work and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.
