About This Role


Our Marketing team is growing, and we’re hiring a part-time, contractor seasoned Sr. Graphic Designer. This position is responsible for owning the digital brand graphic design and visual development experience across all channels in a way that reflects Very’s unique services, values, and personality. 


You will partner with leaders across the marketing team to reach and exceed big growth goals. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Content Marketing, you will have a chance to develop best-in-class graphic design practices and play a part in evolving the brand's visuals over time. 


The role's success will be measured primarily through the successful execution of brand design across digital channels. The main focus of this role will be to deliver designs that engage our core audience with the long-term goal of demand generation, increasing brand recognition and brand loyalty, and protecting the visual integrity of Very.


Responsibilities


1. Produce Creative Work Needed For All Marketing Activities

- Work with the Demand Generation team to develop creative elements for campaigns.

-Work with the Content Team to provide design support on blog articles, long-form content (e.g. case studies, ebooks, etc.), and social posts.

- Provide design support and consultation across all channels, including the website, social media, event signage/booths, print materials, etc., based on the campaign.

- Collaborate with key stakeholders in marketing to drive customer acquisition initiatives through compelling design storytelling.


2. Maintain The Very Brand

- Be the go-to design expert of Very’s Marketing team, collaborating with your fellow team members to brainstorm new and creative solutions. 

- Execute and maintain Very’s brand look, feel, and personality to deeply resonate with our target market.

- Ensure consistent brand style is executed across all communication channels.


3. Manage Time, Deliverables and Expectations Effectively

- Stay on top of your milestones and deadlines using ClickUp, our project management tool.

- Use your time productively, ensuring ongoing communication as you work and managing your team’s expectations along the way. 

- Stay true to the creative brief, asking the right questions to ensure clarity on deliverables and timing.


Outcomes


- Begin fulfilling design experiences with support from the marketing team and established freelancers, ramping to highly efficient during the first 30 days.

- Maintain an engaging visual design experience that maps to and advances our established brand.

- Proficient with executing on all marketing design projects and across all channels.

- Deliverables are completed on brief, on brand and on time with fewer revision cycles. 


Minimum Qualifications


We’re looking for an ambitious creative eager to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, enterprising, collaborative, and personable and have these qualifications:


Experience:


- At least 5-7 years of relevant design experience 

- Highly creative and results-oriented designer with a proven track record of building strong relationships

- Adobe Suite experience, Figma preferred 

- Proven ability to inspire and suggest creative design solutions cross-functionally

- Experience working in a fast-paced, always-changing environment and meeting tight turnaround times

- Experience taking initiative, working independently and actively to resolve issues, and taking ownership of projects and processes

- Must have an understanding the technicalities of print design (resolution, file formats, bleeds etc.) and be able to prep files so they’re ready to go to print 

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Ability to understand technical concepts and visually represent them in design

- Identifies problems, asks probing questions, identifies root causes, researches solutions, and pairs with senior members with questions.

- Work/deadlines/results do not enter escalation states because support can be pulled in effectively before major issues arise.

- Aligns team/partner expectations and asks for feedback.  

- Thinks independently and takes action when faced with challenges.  

- Aligns with team/stakeholder goals, seeks clarity and delivers on established timelines with guidance.

- Adapts to new directions, shares ideas, and acknowledges diverse views.


Ideal Additional Qualifications/Experience:


- Experience at a professional services firm or consultancy 

- BA/BS degree in Design or a similar field

- Familiarity with the Internet of Things (IoT) space is strongly preferred

- Experience managing a dynamic, geographically diverse environment


Contract


Part-time Independent contractor

You must have access to your own computer/device, design software and reliable internet. Must be able to communicate with the team during the 8-5 EST work hours.


Compensation


Base Compensation

$30 USD/hour - 10 hours/week guaranteed
