The Opportunity:
We’re excited to find the right Video Editor to join us! We are looking for an individual who loves to arrange shots into sequences, pick sound effects and music, mix audio, and color grade. To be a successful Video Editor in our company, this person needs to be patient, detail oriented, demonstrate good organizational skills, familiar with all aspects of post-production, have a keen sense of visual awareness to utilize visuals, rhythm, pace, and tension to effectively tell a story and showcase a product. This role best suits someone who has good communication skills, open to feedback, can handle multiple projects simultaneously, is an excellent storyteller who is able utilize raw footage and audio to fulfill the vision of video creative concepts, a precise sense of timing and attention to detail to determine if scenes flow fluidly and elicit the right emotion from viewers, and is able to discern what's visually appealing, especially when performing color grading or arranging scene sequences.
What you will do at VeSync:- Edit creative video content encompassing marketing campaign videos, product spots, product How-To videos, product launch videos, and Youtube brand channel content.
- Have a good sense of timing, pacing, and controlling story flow through editing.
- Use music, dialogue, and SFX to create works that excite, inform, and tell a story.
- Work with post assets, effects, and processes such as: marrying graphics, motion assets, applying color LUTs/color grades, or audio to elevate content.
- Set up multicam edits and sync audio
- Ingest and create selects of footage for each project to share with the internal team.
- Collaborate heavily with several members of the team, including scriptwriters, videographers, graphic designers, as well as external stakeholders to carry out creative concepts and ensure all requirements for videos are met.
- Demonstrate an eagerness to learn new skills and software.
- Perform basic compositing tasks such as 2D and 3D tracking, painting, rotoscoping, etc., in NukeX
- Source additional assets for video content, such as music and sound effects.
- Work with and outsource voiceover artists to voice scripts for videos and integrate these into specific scenes of the video.
- Be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Maintain content quality under condensed schedules.
- Consult regularly with the post-production supervisor, videographers, product marketing managers, and writers to clarify requirements, receive feedback, and make adjustments throughout the entire post-production process.
- Perform subtitling for videos that require closed-captions or translations.
- Preparing assets for CG vendors with proper render specifications and color management.
- Be able to work in an offline/online editing workflow using and generating proxy files.
- Render final deliverables, taking into account different kinds of platforms and encode videos in several specifications and formats.
- Assist with documentation and archiving by maintaining internal project databases and compressing videos for storage.
What you bring to the role:- Deep knowledge of editing in DaVinci Resolve or equivalent NLE software.
- Minimum of 1+ years of work experience as a video editor (advertising agency type environment a plus) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with Adobe After Effects, NukeX for VFX tasks such as compositing, rotoscoping, tracking, painting, etc.. is a big plus.
- Minimum 1 year experience with color correction and coloring grading in DaVinci Resolve, including working with technical and creative LUTs (experience using ACEs color space workflows is a plus).
- Must have experience with multicam editing and syncing audio in DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong ownership and time management is a must!
- Bachelors in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with post-production workflows.
- Must be willing to learn new software and skills.
- Must have experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Has a keen sense of visual awareness to utilize visuals, rhythm, pace, and tension to effectively advertise a product.
- Must have some experience with editing product commercials or promotional campaigns.
Location: This is an on-site, office based role in Tustin, CA with some travel to China to work with our large, international R&D and Product Development teams in Shenzhen.
Salary: $70,000+ annually
