The Opportunity:
The Consultant will function primarily as a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and join a growing and dynamic team. The Consultant will step into a multi-faceted role that offers the opportunity to have a significant and positive impact on the continued growth of the health consulting business with a primary focus on corporate markets. The CRM is expected to be to a key contributor within this market. The individual will collaborate closely with management and staff members at all levels to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to market and sell our full-range of consulting services to clients and prospects. The CRM will oversee the servicing of key client relationships and serve as a team leader in the delivery of health consulting services.
The Role:
The CRM role includes primary relationship accountability for clients and overall responsibility for servicing and client satisfaction. A key part of the role also includes maximizing the profitability of client relationships, through both account management of current assignments on behalf of the Firm, as well as expanding our relationship, e.g. cross selling other services of the Segal Group. Specifically, the CRM collaborates with others at Segal to: build and maintain effective and influential relationships within the client organization; develop and implement strategies to provide high quality, creative and integrated consulting services to clients; lead and/or participate in new business development initiatives targeting existing and prospective clients organizations; provide a high level of creative, innovative, technical expertise to colleagues and clients around the myriad of issues and emerging developments in health benefits consulting. The CRM also directs and guides client teams and plays a proactive role in mentoring and developing staff, contributing to the overall intellectual and professional development within the teams.
Key Requirements:
The qualified candidate must have: a minimum of an undergraduate degree; a minimum of 10 years of experience within an employee benefits consulting and/or related professional services firm or in a corporate environment involving significant exposure to health plan strategies, concepts/approaches, design and implementation; familiarity with corporate sector organizations and benefit plans (experience in public and/or multiemployer markets a plus); the ability to step immediately into a direct client contact role; broad knowledge of group health and/or managed care plans; strong business acumen and leadership ability; demonstrated success as a relationship builder/collaborator; demonstrated experience and success in managing client relationships; excellent interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse audience of colleagues and clients; and ability to travel, as needed, to meet with clients and prospects throughout the Region.

The current salary range for this position is $130,000 to $178,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance of up to 25% for bonus target.
