Job Description


The Vice President, Human Resources will serve as the senior human resources business partner to the Corporate Functions including, Finance, Legal, Communications/Corporate Affairs, Strategy and Development as well as Marketing and Customer Care (which includes IT). This individual will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and support C-Suite leaders and teams. He/she/they will possess a track record of successfully influencing and partnering with C-Suite/senior-level leadership to build organizational capability with a focus on culture, talent, and engagement.

The VP, HR must be recognized as a trusted advisor, be able to effectively work cross-functionally, have strong influencing and problem-solving skills, and must build strong relationships within the businesses and with the HR community. He/she/they must take a solutions-oriented approach to people, organization structure, and other talent-related challenges. This individual will be part of the Human Resources Leadership Team and will work with that team, and others, to align practices and initiatives with the Company’s overarching strategic goals.

  • Provide strategic counsel to senior-level leaders in the areas of organizational effectiveness, org design, talent management, colleague development, performance management, and coaching.
  • Provide support to multiple areas of business, working cross-functionally and assisting leaders at many levels in optimizing the performance of their teams, aligning on shared goals and imperatives, and resolving issues.
  • Identify talent gaps and development areas across the businesses.
  • Develop and implement HR strategy that drives employee engagement.
  • Partner with senior management to identify and proactively develop talent through formal training, mentoring, coaching, and "stretch" assignments.
  • Facilitate the talent planning processes ensuring plans are in place and executed to grow talent in the organization and ensure viable successors for key roles.
  • Implement creative solutions to increase employee engagement and ensure retention of talent.
  • Provide guidance and input on proactive workforce and long-range planning, identify gaps in capability, and partner with leaders to develop action plans to address.
  • Effectively balance meeting the needs of the businesses while operating within enterprise HR processes, policies, and practices.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Talent Acquisition organization to identify, recruit, and successfully on-board new leaders within the business.
  • Serve as a member of the Human Resources Leadership team to provide input and counsel into the development of human resources policies and programs.
  • Manage one direct report.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources (master’s degree preferred) in Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or other related discipline Required
  • 12+ years of broad and progressive HR leadership in an organization that values a progressive approach to talent management.
  • Must be able to roll up your sleeves and execute while also demonstrating strategic prowess.
  • Deep knowledge across HR including, talent management, organizational design, leadership development, compensation, and DEI.
  • Experience managing in a matrixed environment that continuously prioritizes operational excellence.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations and businesses.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage relationships effectively and diplomatically.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strategic leader with high energy and drive for results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to Human Resources.
  • A driver who possesses the ability to take action and implement effective solutions in a timely manner often while influencing across different functions and levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and an in-depth understanding of the HR and financial implications of business decisions.
  • Decisive and logical at thoroughly evaluating issues.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations affecting HR.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and add value to high-level management interactions.
  • Ability to travel 10%.

Additional Information


In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $159,328.72 and $288,104.20. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
