Overview: Muller Infrastructure is a P3 developer that provides alternative delivery solutions for higher education institutions and public agencies. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Vice President of Business Development to lead our company's expansion efforts in the higher education sector. The ideal candidate will have existing strong relationships with higher education business office reps in the Mid-Atlantic USA region. This position will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for developing and executing the company's P3 or Public-Private Partnership business development strategy in the assigned region.
Responsibilities:
The VP of Business Development will be responsible for initiating and leading activities in business, client, and project development to secure P3 infrastructure projects for Muller Infrastructure in the Mid-Atlantic USA region among private colleges and universities and potentially, select municipalities.
The VP of Business Development primary tasks will be to open doors for Muller Infrastructure to ultimately propose P3 project solutions to clients. The ideal candidate will establish the business development strategy, drive the development and execution of capture strategies, lead client interfacing, and coordinate sales, marketing, public relations, and agency/governmental affairs for the P3 strategy.
Specifically:
Help develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for P3 infrastructure projects.
Identify leads and build an opportunity pipeline.
Build and maintain sales and marketing campaigns.
Develop and maintain an understanding of P3 infrastructure projects.
Manage the BD & sales/marketing process from lead generation to proposal acceptance.
Work closely within the internal team and its external advisors/experts.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
Strong existing relationships with higher education business office contacts (COO, CFO) in the Mid-Atlantic region.
At least 5 years' experience in business development, sales, marketing or communications.
Understands how such institutions function (politics, decision-making, parlance, bureaucracy, culture, capital planning, budgeting).
Outgoing, engaging, self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, coordinate with HQ, and manage multiple, long-lead project development activities.
Basic understanding of infrastructure, P3s, and project development & delivery (preferred but not required).
