Storable is seeking a talented and experienced VP of DevOps who will be responsible for strategically planning, executing, and optimizing the company's cloud infrastructure, driving a culture of excellence, and delivering high-quality solutions through effective collaboration, process improvement, and talent management.
What you'll do everyday:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for DevOps practices and initiatives, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for improvement, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and establish a roadmap for achieving operational excellence.
- DevOps Leadership: Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity within the DevOps team and across departments. Provide strong leadership and guidance, ensuring team members have the resources and support needed to deliver high-quality solutions. Encourage continuous learning, innovation, and diversity of thought within the team.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management and optimization of the company's cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS. Design and implement scalable, reliable systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, best practices, and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency.
- SDLC Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the software development lifecycle. Implement and standardize DevOps methodologies, tools, and practices such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, and automated testing. Streamline workflows to accelerate software delivery while maintaining quality and stability.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and operations, to align DevOps initiatives with business requirements. Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency, gathering feedback, and maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
- Team Building and Talent Management: Build and develop a high-performing DevOps team. Recruit top talent, foster a diverse and inclusive environment, and provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Encourage a growth mindset and create a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost optimization efforts by monitoring resource utilization, identifying areas for cost savings, and implementing strategies to optimize cloud usage. Collaborate closely with finance and procurement teams to forecast and manage infrastructure costs effectively.
- Incident Response and Risk Management: Develop and implement incident response plans, ensuring prompt resolution of critical issues and minimizing downtime. Establish robust disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Identify and mitigate risks related to infrastructure, security, and compliance.
- Vendor and Third-Party Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors to ensure the effective delivery of services and support. Stay informed about vendor offerings, negotiate contracts, and leverage partnerships to drive innovation and value for the company.
- Metrics and Reporting: Establish and track key metrics and performance indicators related to DevOps processes and cloud infrastructure. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to executive management.
What you need to bring to the table:
- 10+ years of experience with cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in DevOps or related roles.
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering high-quality solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with modern toolsets like Kubernetes, new data pipeline tools, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Experience in process improvement and driving organizational change.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Relevant certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms are a plus.

$191,000—$234,000 USD
