The Audio and Video Conference Support group is looking for a hardworking Video & Web Conferencing Specialist who is passionate about technology and helping people. You will be working with the Fermilab user community which includes Scientists, Engineers, Educators, Post-docs, Computer Professionals and Executives, providing technical assistance and support for audio video conferencing through ServiceNow tickets, phone, or chat. Additional responsibilities include account provisioning, hardware configuration, inventory management, AV system support, and special project support as needed. You will interact with internal customers and facilities management consulting and providing coordination for new A/V conference room construction and installations. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can work equally well in a collaborative environment or independently.
You Will
  • Provide Zoom technical assistance and support for all Fermilab users through tickets, phone, chat, and in-person support as needed.
  • Coordinate with on-site and remote employees, vendors, and contractors for all IT support.
  • Prioritizing help desk tickets via ServiceNow and advancing appropriately when needed.
  • Assist in analysis of all existing Zoom video conference room upgrades.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems.
  • Deploy and maintain a mixed environment of MacOS and Windows devices.
  • Deploy, maintain, and monitor hardware and software.
  • Maintain knowledge of new and emerging technologies in Zoom video conferencing.
  • Train users when implementing new hardware and software.
  • Assist in evaluations and testing of new video conferencing technologies.
  • Follow and implement organization security policies to protect customer data
  • Maintain inventory management system.
  • Coordinate with management and Facilities team for any building modifications required for new equipment installation or room renovations.
  • Handle inventory management, AV support, and special project support.
  • Contribute optimally within a diverse workforce and upholds Fermilab’s dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We Are Looking For
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Zoom video conferencing. Experience in handling Zoom’s cloud platform a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skill.
  • Must communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and computer networks.
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating with diverse groups/departments.
  • Basic knowledge of concepts, best practices, and procedures in audio video conferencing technologies.
  • Must be able to follow established processes.
  • Ability to read, write, and analyze digital signal designs.
  • One or more technical certifications inc. COMPTIA A+, Network+, etc, preferred.
  • Experience in designing and/or installation of audio video conference rooms a plus.
  • Familiarity with Mersive Solstice collaboration platform a plus.
