Video Director - CNE (Food - Bon Appetit and Epicurious)
Overview:
Conde Nast Entertainment is seeking a Video Director to join our dynamic, fast-paced creative food team. In this role the Director will work closely with our Senior Producers and Coordinating Producers on all video productions.
The Video Director has a history of creating and executing high concept digital videos, working with and directing A-List celebrities, highly esteemed experts and everyday people.
This role reports into the Director of Content Production / Supervising Producer or Executive Producer, depending on the brand collection.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Dedicated to a specific division. Responsible for creative vision and execution for all projects.
- This individual must be comfortable and experienced in tracking high-level content success.
- Is the driving force behind their shoots; directing, producing and researching for their projects.
- This individual supervises the entire creative process from treatment to final delivery and must display high levels of proactivity with their work ethic.
- This individual must display an “all hands on deck” and “can-do” attitude. They are the driving force behind their shoots.
- Must be able to foster relationships (crew, cast, agents, publicists, vendors, etc.) and grow the network and resources successfully.
- Needs to own and understand accountability and responsibility for all projects and their teams.
- This individual must display leadership qualities and pride in their work. This individual needs to influence their teams and provide clear communications.
- Always hits deadlines, leads by example, a model CNE employee for all to emulate.
- Always has an eye on the larger goals of the video and how each video created impacts KPIs.
- Must be an expert in digital video and understand all nuances across multiple video platforms.
- Must be an expert at working with talent.
- Rigorously research topics and talent for existing series. Work collaboratively with Producers/Associate Producers/Researchers/Script Writers.
- Have a strategic POV on emerging platforms and how they can be leveraged for audience growth and engagement. Working with creative leads, HOPs, development leads. Creative strategizing around new business for existing series. Understanding sponsored video and ideation.
- Participating in creative brainstorms, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to incorporate new tools and workflows that will empower the group and broader CNE stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor and stay on top of competitive channels.
- This individual is a leading voice in the process of their series and oversees serialized social content production.
- Reviewing, editing, and approving preliminary and final treatments, outlines, shooting scripts, scripts, casting, production schedules, budgets, selects, graphics, music, rough cuts, fine cuts, final narration and final versions of all assigned programs.
- Ability to help train new staff. Positive leadership and mentorship that supports retention attitude. Active in decreasing attrition. Actions adequately supporting positive and professional development goals.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to the Director of Content Production / Supervising Producer or Executive Producer.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 3 years experience producing and developing digital videos on various platforms.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with high-end celebrity talent.
- A demonstrated track record in creative execution.
- Experience managing a slate of multiple projects simultaneously.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $90,000 -$135,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
