Position Summary
As the Senior Technical Product Manager of Data Products at Virtuous, you have the unique opportunity to drive a broad range of product functions for market-leading BI, analytics, and AI products. This is your chance to drive innovation for some of the world’s leading nonprofit and social impact organizations by crafting product strategy, conducting continuous discovery with customers & stakeholders, driving the product roadmap, managing development cycles, and ensuring product delivery. You will join a tight-knit, highly skilled product team focused on outcome-driven excellence with empathy towards teammates, customers, and partners.
Reporting to the VP of Product, you will work closely with your product trio along with engineers, technical support staff, CSMs, and 3rd party vendors to manage, grow, and maintain a best-in-class suite of Data products. You should feel at home in a highly technical environment, using your background in enterprise data platforms, data science, BI + analytics, AI, and customer-centric technical product management to deliver measurable wins for both Virtuous and our customers.
Responsibilities
As a member of a nimble team, responsibilities for this role are typically split between:
Maintaining our Data Products Roadmap & Strategy
Crafting and managing margin-enhancing product strategy using your understanding of the market, customers, and the business to inform your recommendations
Documenting and maintaining an organized roadmap, ensuring that it is visually clear and up to date for all stakeholders
Planning and prioritization of feature updates based on continuous product discovery and in collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders
Adaptable resource planning and allocation across design, engineering, and QA
Proactive planning of support structure upgrades/improvements
Release Cycle Management & Feature Documentation
Engaging with internal stakeholders and managing development projects throughout a release cycle to ensure smooth execution and delivery
Triaging and prioritizing stories & bugs to ensure that the most important work is tackled first
Working closely with Engineering Management to help the team stay focused and on track
Writing and facilitating documentation across releases including PRDs, feature documentation, bug remediation documentation, and release documentation for all data products
Proactive support of questions utilizing your deep product knowledge to help internal teams achieve success (e.g. Solutions Engineers, CSMs, Sales)
User Research, Product Discovery, & Competitive Analysis
Maintaining a pulse on the industry to identify mature growth levers in areas like: AI development & innovation, data science, machine learning & LLMs, data visualization, etc
Monitoring the market to ensure competitive viability
Conduct continuous product discovery, user research, and dive deep into the needs and behaviors of key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
Utilize your technical expertise and skill set to evaluate technical constraints, work closely with engineers, and be able to lead through outcome-driven product plans
Identify opportunities to drive revenue and innovation, expanding Virtuous’ position as market and innovation leader
You Must Have
7+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data products, BI, AI, or analytics
Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex technical products in an enterprise SaaS environment
Strong technical background with experience in data platforms, BI tools, AI/ML frameworks, and big data technologies
Specific experience in Snowflake, DBT, Sigma, SQL, LLMs preferred
Proven experience delivering high-value products with minimal bugs
Experience working collaboratively across functions, including engineering, product marketing, customer success, data operations, and sales teams.
Expert communication skills and strong grasp of the product management discipline
Proficiency with Lean/Agile methodologies (at Virtuous we utilize tools like JIRA, Confluence, Notion, Productboard, and Figma)
