The Risk Control Consultant role presents an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing firms in the industry and be a key player in developing our Virtus Risk Solutions (VRS) team. They are the eyes and ears of our team gaining essential information about our clients and their risk exposures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Consult with clients and prospects regarding risk control and risk analysis intended to positively impact their loss experience.
•Advocates and assists clients with responding to insurance carrier recommendations and requirements.
•Provides customer service to key accounts to improve overall risk exposure.
•Analyzes client loss information, industry hazards, and business specific risks.
•Establishes and maintains client relationships with key stakeholders of current and prospective clients.
•Conduct loss analysis to help identify where potential problems stem.
•Develop plans and materials required to achieve successful implementation of risk programs.
•Implement plans to minimize loss by applying research and trends from loss history and claims analysis.
•Make recommendations and develop programs for remedying hazardous conditions, practice, or potential loss for Client, ensuring causing circumstance to comply with appropriate codes and standards.
•Communicate and distribute safety, hazard prevention, and risk control information to Client.
•Assist producers and service team in identifying and retaining business through the creation and presentation of risk control services.
•Ensure compliance with regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to risk control.
•Educate Clients on regulations pertaining to risk control as needed.
•Travels and performs observations of client locations, assets, and business operations.
•Assist with the completion of projects as needed.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in risk management, safety, or related field and/or years of experience equivalent.
•Previous risk control/loss control insurance experience required.
•Risk, Safety, or Insurance Designations and/or desire to complete designations a plus.
•Applies a solid knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other risk and safety regulations; construction experience is preferred but not required.
•Knowledge of commercial property, casualty coverage, services, and programs.
•Understands industry trends and governmental regulations.
•Ability to utilize all resources available to find answers for client inquiries and fully resolve any risk control/loss control related issues is required.
•Understands carrier risk control/broker risk control interaction and collaboration.
•Position requires direct communication with clients; therefore, strong written, oral and presentation communication skills, with a commitment to impeccable client service are required; ability to adjust easily to working well with a variety of workstyles.
•Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), Agency Management Systems, and the ability to learn new software systems.
•Willingness to grow and develop.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. The employee will be navigating client locations such as construction sites, manufacturing facilities, outdoor areas, etc.
Travel:
Approximately 20-30% and/or dependent on client needs.
