Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a global business unit focused on ensuring Visa is the best way for businesses to pay and be paid. We help businesses succeed by providing innovative and secure B2B payment solutions. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments.  We work closely with Issuers, Merchants, FinTechs and other ecosystem players to deliver these services. Job Scope and Responsibilities

As a member of the Operations team within VCS, this individual will be focused on supporting the structure for VCS to operate effectively and helping maintain a high-performance culture that inspires and engages every VCS employee.

 

The Director of Business Insights and Operations will have the ability to write effectively, think strategically, act tactically, and display strong analytical and critical thinking skills. The candidate must also be able to build strong working relationships and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. This role involves heavy stakeholder management, cross team collaboration, content curation, and material creation.

 

The new hire will report to and partner closely with Visa’s Head of Global VCS Commercial Operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the growing B2B payments space and help drive the business forward.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

Content Creation

  • Create compelling narratives, talking points, and presentations for the Global Head of VCS to share with internal and external audiences highlighting industry trends, key strategies, and Visa’s solutions
  • Own the internal reporting infrastructure for Global VCS including weekly updates, MBRs, QBRs, Town Halls, and earnings calls. Ensure the most relevant information is surfaced while improving processes to increase team’s productivity
  • Support leadership team by articulating our position on strategic issues

 

Insights

  • Advise the Visa Commercial Solutions team by organizing and prioritizing critical information and data to facilitate efficient decision-making. Generate actionable insights through close partnership with global and regional teams
  • Identify and share opportunities to optimize and scale investments based on learnings and best practices
  • Own the reporting of key business metrics, understand their trends, and surface strategic insights to drive them

 

Strategic Planning and Thought Partnership

  • Support teams in developing and articulating strategic plans including metrics to track progress towards goals
  • Offer objective assessments of current initiatives and identify areas for improvement
  • Inform annual planning process with assessments of previous investments and understanding of future opportunities

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Create and implement processes to enhance cross-team coordination and operational efficiency
  • Act as a strategic liaison between VCS and other functions, ensuring successful integration and coordination of shared goals and strategy
  • Develop strong relationships and act as a strategic point of contact across stakeholders (e.g., Global CMS Team, Finance, People, Marketing, and other business partners)

 

Initiatives

  • Define and manage the business intelligence strategy and operating model, partnering with various teams to ensure meaningful insights are readily available
  • Develop and manage our employee engagement plan, partnering with relevant teams to deliver against the plan
  • Manage select deliverables for the Head of VCS Commercial Operations

 

Leadership

  • Embody and champion our Visa Leadership Principles
  • Coach and mentor team to develop and retain talent

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications: 

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Relevant Experience

Experience in management consulting, strategy & operations, communications, or a related field
Ability to act as a strategic advisor and facilitate efficient decision-making


Communication Skills

Excellent written and oral communication ability
Capacity to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
Proficiency in creating compelling narratives


Problem Solving and Data Proficiency

High levels of learning-agility
Experience in data-driven initiatives to enhance business performance and decision-making
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work with incomplete data or seemingly open-ended questions, translating them into actionable analysis
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with a keen ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies
Understanding of data architecture and data warehousing preferred


Project Management

Self-starter with strong project and time management skills, able to manage competing priorities effectively
Proven ability to determine opportunities, clarify next steps, delegate effectively to deliver desired results


Collaboration and Partnership

Strong team player, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while coordinating cross-functional activities and obtaining buy-in
High level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust, and respect with partners
Outstanding collaboration capabilities including experience with senior executives

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 135,300.00 to 245,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
