The Opportunity at Komodo Health
At Komodo Health, the design team creates human-centered experiences that help shape and accelerate our category leadership in addressing disease burden. They use a broad skillset across design research, interaction, and human-centered design principles to solve complex healthcare and life sciences problems with eloquent design solutions, from concept to execution.
Visual designers work alongside the product designers and engineers to create experiences that enable the people who use Komodo products to explore and find meaning from Komodo's data map. They are responsible for applying their knowledge of color, typography, hierarchy, and layout to develop creative concepts and execute intuitive digital designs.
Looking back in your first 12 months at Komodo, you will have...
- Delivered high-fidelity designs through collaborating with product designers, product managers, and engineering partners
- Contributed to the Komodo design system by refining existing components, defining new patterns, and documenting appropriate usage and behaviors.
- Prototyped screen flows in Figma
- Participated in discovery activities such as research, visual and competitive audits, and assisted in extracting insights from interviews.
What you bring to Komodo:
- Professional experience designing digital experiences, products, services, or solutions.
- A passion for all aspects of design including conceptual thinking, typography, motion, copy, and data visualization.
- You've adapted style guidelines to create scalable systems and contributed to a design system in an iterative software development environment.
- You have strong teamwork skills—the ability and desire to collaborate with others on the design team and across Komodo and can communicate your ideas effectively.
- Self-management skills to meet critical project deadlines.
- Familiarity with animation and motion graphics.

Where You'll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
