Our direct customer, a leading utility construction firm providing critical infrastructure for the Power, Communications, Oil & Gas is seeking a Voice & Data Technician with active clearances (Secret or Top Secret) to join their team working at a customer site in the District of Columbia.
While working under general supervision, the Voice & Data Technician supports install, repair and/or test voice, data, audio/visual infrastructures. Must rely upon experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish daily and weekly milestones.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Foreman Must have (Lab Techs some experience preferred, but can train if have some other relevant tech) experience in all facets of network installations, which includes the physical placement of conduit, CAT5 and fiber optic cable, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required
· Surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring equipment chase, cards power supplies, racks, patch panels, etc., testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc.
· Accountability/Dependability to work as needed/scheduled.
· Teamwork (technical expertise developed to complete work efficiently).
· Active Listening (ability to take input from customers, Supervisor and co-workers to problem solve).
· Asking relevant questions to ensure problems are resolved quickly or to clarify information or directions.

· Helps to maintain a safe work environment for all crew members.
· May work and direct a crew of 2 to 4 installers and helpers while under the supervision of a Foreman or Supervisor.
· Assists in all aspects of the project as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor.
· Updates customer prints and documentation as required.
· Completes work orders, material transfer forms, and other documentation required by the company.
Qualifications:
· Active clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
· 1-3 years of telecommunications installation experience.
· Must have understanding of EIA/ TIA Standards.
· Will have a thorough working knowledge of most widely used installation, termination and testing procedures along with the use of any associated hardware and equipment.
· Fiber optic cabling experience to include termination, testing and troubleshooting preferred/not required.
· BICSI Certification preferred/not required.
· Industry Certifications as plus. (i.e. CommScope, Hilti, Tyco, Panduit, etc.)
· Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· Must be able to climb ladders and perform the necessary work while on the ladder.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry 25 lbs.
· High school education or equivalent.
· Must have own tools
· Overtime may be required. May be required to work varying shifts.
· Ability to travel to multiple locations within Metropolitan DC area (to include the Baltimore, MD area as well)
