Volley Automation is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead the development and management of our AGV and robotic parking solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics (both HW and SW development), a passion for sustainable technology, and the ability to do tactical work that drives the product strategy from conception to launch.
The Technical Product Manager will manage the technology approach and feature design for our product strategy as defined by our CTO and Head of Product.
The ideal candidate should also have experience collaborating with hardware and software engineers and be able to speak their language regarding features and timing.
The ideal candidate will partner with the Technical Program Manager and Engineering Leaders to define features, manage timelines and expectations, and implement and execute the product roadmap overall.
Work with leadership and engineering to define/clarify features, roadmap priorities, customer experience (CX), user experience (UX), compliance, accessibility, and other requirements.
Be a consensus builder (e.g., roadmap, product strategy, technical strategy, solution design, and/or delivery approach). You foster a constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and lead the resolution of contentious issues. You partner successfully with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Handle complex product development and management scenarios.
Understand technologies within the product areas. Can articulate technology requirements for a feature. Asks the right technical questions; can identify risks in technology design choices.
Own and drive feature discussions with cross-functional teams.
Produce clear, concise documents (e.g., PRDs, functional and technical specifications, tickets, issues, etc.)
Spot risks and ask the right technical questions to ensure appropriate product and feature trade-offs are made.
Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches.
Understand the technical and financial feasibility of the product features, represent technology requirements (accurately), and drive technical outcomes based on aligned success criteria defined by the Product team.
Monitor and analyze product performance, making data-driven decisions to enhance the user experience.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in robotics and EV charging
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
5 + years of product management experience, with a focus on robotics or automation
Proven track record of successfully launching and managing tech products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Passion for sustainability and innovation in robotics and EV charging space
Demonstrated ability to define detailed technical requirements, user stories and success criteria based on business requirements and overarching product strategies and customer outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to mitigate risks and help reduce a product’s exposure to typical failure modes.
Demonstrated ability to drive a product roadmap and possess a tactical work mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Executive-level presentation skills
5 days a week on-site expected
Willingness and ability to travel
Startup experience managing HW and SW products
A background in robotics, industrial automation, construction, building design, urban planning, or architecture
