Voya Financial Advisors®, Inc., a leading independent broker-dealer in the defined contribution & defined benefit business, is currently seeking a Financial Advisor Intern to work with our team in the “local” area to learn plan sponsor relationships, study the business of financial advising and assist our firm in a 12-week internship in summer 2023. This internship is paid and remote is not an option.

Job Description:

We are looking for a financial advisor intern to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting financial advisors in creating, implementing, and managing investment strategies for clients in the tax-exempt marketplace. This internship is ideal for individuals who want to learn about the financial services industry, gain hands-on experience, and develop key skills in client relationship management, financial planning, and investment management.

Responsibilities:

• Assist financial advisors in analyzing financial data, conducting market research, and preparing reports

• Support financial advisors in developing and implementing investment strategies for clients

• Attend client meetings with financial advisors to gain exposure to the client relationship management process

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on investment strategies and portfolio management

• Learn how to use various financial software and tools to conduct investment analysis and develop financial plans

• Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and organizing documents

Expectations:

• Currently pursuing a degree in finance, economics, or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Willingness to learn and take initiative

• Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship
