Lead an enterprise-wide team of communicators responsible for the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion communications, with an emphasis on proactive storytelling that highlights Disney’s efforts in a highly engaging fashion to enhance the company’s reputation with key stakeholders – including consumers, employees, legislators, advocacy organizations and the media.

The Vice President will:

  • Direct all communications strategies in support of the company’s ongoing environmental, volunteer, and charitable-giving efforts.
  • Coordinate with business units across the company to develop PSAs that highlight key CSR efforts, with accountability for content review and distribution strategies.
  • Partner with leaders and teams from across Disney’s business units and global markets to provide subject matter expertise on relevant DEI and CSR practices and issues.
  • Create an ongoing database of public impact reports that demonstrate the company’s economic, social and charitable impact in the communities in which we serve, partnering with our Government Affairs and Global Public Policy teams.
  • Oversee research and monitoring of emerging global, national and local CSR and DEI issues that may potentially impact the company or its employees and provide analysis and metrics to leadership.
  • Plan and execute internal crisis communication response strategies, in collaboration with Corporate Communications, as needed.

  • 10+ years of professional experience relevant to creating and supporting the strategies listed above in the areas of CSR, DEI, corporate or external communications, or issues/crisis communications.
  • Expertise and demonstrated success managing teams and navigating a highly matrixed organization with accountability to multiple stakeholders.
  • Crisis communications experience managing messaging and brand reputation, with a proven ability to influence opinion.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to grasp and translate complex and disparate ideas into a cohesive editorial strategy with clear messaging.
  • Ability to craft and edit internal and external communications related to the topic areas, including websites, executive presentations and scripts.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and act decisively.

Preferred Experience
