VP Engineering - Lead UniMap to the next Level (Chicago, Frankfurt or Mumbai)

What's the role?:

The VP of Foundation Engineering (FE) is responsible for building the Unimap infrastructure, which is vital for curating our content products. This role involves leading global teams and driving the re-architecture of core systems to enhance service performance, content accuracy, robustness, and cost efficiency. The Foundation Engineering organization comprises major verticals such as Content Automation, Content Management, and Infrastructure & Service Management, as well as horizontal functions like Places & Traffic and business execution. The FE leader collaborates with executive leaders, the Product & Technology leadership team, and stakeholders across the company to implement agile engineering practices and align business results. This customer-facing role requires exceptional business acumen, technical expertise, customer management, and seasoned leadership skills. The team is global, with an organization size of 600+.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead global teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels in the organization (683 EE’s/ETL’s globally).
Plan, design, develop, and test software systems or applications for enhancements and new products.
Oversee engineering teams to ensure the development of innovative and world-class products.
Develop strategic plans, vision, mission, and execution plans for the Foundation Engineering Group.
Apply in-depth knowledge of the latest technologies relevant to the Unimap environment for competitive advantage.
Utilize cutting-edge thinking to address key business and organizational challenges, optimizing group performance.
Improve efficiencies in development processes to manage costs and enhance productivity.
Make headcount planning and performance management decisions.
Set direction through resource allocation decisions.
Shape company policy and develop strategic plans to successfully implement company objectives.
Act as a frequent representative and presenter for HERE to customers, partners, and vendors.
Foster collaboration in complex strategic partnerships or customer cases.
Interact across teams and leaders within HERE.
Engage in internal management forums and stakeholder communities to shape the execution of HERE's strategy.
Influence and negotiate internally and externally, with significant impact on outcomes.
Engage in highly visible activities, such as negotiations with customers and influencing other leaders.

Who are you?:

Preferred MBA degree or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
Proven ability to develop effective organizational structures that meet evolving business needs.
15+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role.
Strong leadership experience with a track record of creating high-performing teams and driving employee engagement across diverse functions and cultures, including transformational leadership.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, including storytelling.
Exceptional problem-solving, business communication, and organizational influence skills.
Experience working in cross-functional teams and organizations.
Demonstrated experience in managing large global teams and understanding various cultural contexts.
